orbituary of blackie swart/blackie/fishy

alas, he has passed on...
after days and months of circling his abode in pursuit of happiness and the meaning of life, black fishy was flushed to rest-- his death has come as a shock to the family of related piscean species and will no doubt, leave an indelible mark on the future, the children and the planet as a whole.
it was with great heartbreak that he was found floating belly-up in his watery home, and his life flashed before my eyes -- the day i got him, when he and his brothers and sisters were on special for 4 for R10 at the fleamarket, when i brought him home and he refused to eat due to his satyagraha notions regarding being separated from his family -- and he passivley resisited until the day we made eyecontact (well mostly his right eye made contact) and bonded over the philosophy of life and whether the fish food he consumed was really made of...fish. we had the best conversations late at night and even though the glimmer of his eyes could only be seen, his prescence was all i needed.
and then.the dreaded day came.
i scooped him out with the ladel of death and transported him towards the final resting place...and with the emotion taylor from the bold and the beautiful displays when she cries, i finally flushed him into his blue heaven.
well, i guess im making another trip to the flea market this weekend :)

i think i might have made his Acquaintance. a good fish- not the brightest, neither the most entertaining. but a good fish. He shall be missed ( i'm assuming its a he, and the death is suicide related)may he swim in the rivers of Janaat - just not the rivers i'l be drinking out off

Aww, poor blackie swart.:( Don't worry, love, he's resting in God's arms now...

SWART BLACKIE(nee BLACK)

If tears could build a stairway to heaven,
and heartache a fish net,
we'd swim right up and scoop you in, my small fishy pet.
A golden heart stopped beating,
and your fins no longer...swim
but Blackie, just remember, friend,
your memory will never dim.

Inserted by Blackie's friend, Joe "Mina Moo" Cow(formerly of Avoca pastures :). Please forward all donations to uShaka Marine World...it's what Blackie would've wanted...

If you need any help (Ghusl arrangements, etc) call me. Love you.

I know the feeling. Had this cool little fishy once, white all over and big red head. Used to swim in circles.

Weird enough though... it died on the floor of the fish tank. not floating, but it wasn't moving :(

My dad used to call it LaL Topi ('cos of its red head)

word.

Slms.

my dad was icthyologically inclined. At one point we had over three hundred fish in this huge four meter tank that took up a considerable amount of space in the dining room. we had loads of different fish- no sharks sadly, or ocotopuses or anything cool. one day i peeked into the tank and saw about 150 larger fish. i'm sure they looked bigger than from the time we bought them. couldnt figure out what happened to the others. we had an artifial waterfall/rock feature in the lounge- couple of goldfish in that. dad had to relocate them because my brother and i used to throw them against the wall ( hey - before you go all PETA on me - we were very young) and how many of you can say youve never abused an animal ( cockroaches have feelings too)

From there dad got a collection of Koi fish - boy he loved those bloody things- sorry middle child syndrome kicking in. it was his dream to hav these see through pipes going through the first floor of the house so the fish could swim through the rooms. it was mums dream to have a flat screen tv to watch kuch kuch hota hai on. sacrifices we make for love :)

um...cockroaches don't have feelings, I think...think it's the lack of a proper nervous system. (Diva told me that :)

As for the toupe, we'll have to call CSI in to determine how long its been in rigor mortis...:)

I've never had a fish, or any pets. Pa said it was unislamic to keep pets against their will :D
He also said "you can't play with a fish, you can't take him for a walk, all it does is swim in circles and stare at you. Now finish your hake burger before I moer you!" (ok, I made up the hake bit...:D
